It's the Thought that Counts...
The Graphic-Heart strives to create simple thoughtful cards as a means to an end, as a platform for self-expression and caring sentiments. It has been suggested by critics that greeting cards are tantamount to cheating, that they denigrate our ability to communicate with each other without professionals doing so for us. So, with that in mind we hope you'll find a card from our gallery that encourages you to add your own words...your own personal touch. Don't let the critics denigrate the use of greeting cards as a meaningful means of sharing, after all whether pre-printed or not, it's the thought that counts.
Clearly greeting cards have for decades served their purpose exceptionally well as a way of articulating our feelings to those that mean so much to us, and have even been used in the support of humanitarian efforts as well, and more recently for environmental causes. From in-store card racks to the internet, they are at our easy disposal for a reason...to share a bit of ourselves with each other.
Once again, thank you for taking the time to view our gallery, we hope you'll find something that jumpstarts the process of sharing your personal thoughts on paper, not replace them. The Graphic-Heart believes that despite the significant impact social media has had on how we communicate, the printed or handwritten word will always be worth so much more to the giver and receiver. Please continue to share by whatever means you choose; the simple act of sharing is what's truly important, not how we do it.
With thanks and appreciation,
The Graphic-Heart
John Ernsdorf - Graphic Designer / Art Director
After attending Chouinard Art Institute in the late 60s, John Ernsdorf continued his artistic pursuits as an award-winning graphic designer in the commercial advertising field in addition to record cover and magazine design until his retirement. Feeling the urge to put his talents to work once again, he decided to start The Graphic-Heart, an online greeting card company based in Los Angeles. With a minimalist approach towards message over design, along with a less is more approach he has created a collection of greeting cards that convey meaningful sentiments in the simplest of forms and with the least amount of design distraction or interference.
